22nd August 2008
Hello all!
Sorry about the delay this week. Back in May, I paid for the continuation of my email domain. Unfortunately, the money was put against the wrong account and my email stopped working.
Everything is sorted now, but I'm sorry if you were expecting this at your work email before the weekend.
It's been a disappointing couple of weeks for me as I've been unwell. As I've only been dancing twice in 2 weeks you can guess at how much I'm missing it ![]()
So, no new reviews from me this week but I do have a report from Cork and a ticket offer. I hope to start again tonight and build up my strength. I'm looking forward to High Wycombe on Saturday and, weather permitting, Notting Hill Carnival
A friend has dropped me a line, offering tickets for the Afro Cuban Salsa Fiesta at a reduced price.
Due to unforeseen circumstances 2 fully paid up tickets are on offer for the following event:- AFRO CUBAN SALSA FIESTA 12th - 15th SEPTEMBER 2008. Enjoy 3 nights of great parties, dance shows and live music and 2 days of workshops for all tastes and levels at Mundesley Holiday Village on the East Coast of England on the famous sandy beaches of the lovely Norfolk coastline. http://www.afrocuban.co.uk/afrocubanfies
Drop me a line if you're interested and I'll put you in touch.
Last year I drove over 5,500 miles, going to salsa venues. This year, I've driven over 4,500 miles and have costed it at £700 so far.
So, I was interested in saving money and after picking up some eco driving tips, can report that they do work. Last time I got an additional 50 miles out of my tank. Here's a link to some advice.

Anna's dropped me a line about Cork! BTW, she's the Bunny Girl in the photo
Oh what a weekend… I've just got back from Cork, where I had the time of my life. I've thought about going before, but the cost of a flight on top of the weekend pass and hotel made me think twice. I've completely changed my thinking! It's worth every penny and then some, I feel like I've been on a long holiday and I had the time of my life. I will DEFINITELY be going back next year!!
So what was so good about it? I'll have to edit heavily as there was soooo much… The people were lovely, and they really know how to party - the Irish wrote the book on having a good time. The teachers were outstanding - Nuno and Vanda, Son Rumberos, Terry & Yolande, Moe Flex, Paul Baarn and the local Salsa Ireland team. The parties were great, with good music, amazing shows and some memorable dancing. The fancy dress party had to be seen to be believed, and memories of the scavenger hunt and all-day party on Monday will stay with me for a long time to come. Only in Ireland could you persuade a complete stranger to empty his family and dog out of his car so that your team of 13 could cram in and have a photo taken…
So, I'll be booking my flight for next year as soon as they're out. Roll on Bonanza 9
